Hello, just wondering if SSD improve performance aide from boot times? I want to do away with HDD altogether because I already have 3TB External drive.

Solution
An SSD comes with many advantages.
- Less power draw
- Faster boot times
- Faster software loading times
- Faster data transfer (up to 30%+ opening files)
- May marginally improve game performance, may not (usually not though) - although TweakTown suggests otherwise
- Faster game loading times
- No moving parts within the component, meaning a longer life if used correctly and less heat generated, and quieter

There are lots of advantages to having an SSD, they have come a long way and gives your whole system a boost. It won't necessarily improve areas like gaming FPS (unless your -rarely- storage is your bottleneck, in which case it will be faster than a HDD), but will improve load and data transfer times as well as draw less power, and...

Most people (myself included) go for a SSD with OS and core programmes & HDD set up for everything else. So don't rush to throwing away all HDD straight away. You don't need an SSD for basic storage. But that's up to you.

Solution

CPU use is the same. Just another drive.

But my main system, starting in 2012, has transitioned from a single 120GB SSD + a couple of HDD, to all SSD.
5 different drives, 500(boot drive)+250+250+960+120...totaling ~2TB SSD space. Including the original 120GB drive, which is now just cache space for the video and photo editing tools.

That's probably not a drive issue.
What are the specs for your system, and how does it compare with the requirements for this program?

hp p7 1234, Win 10 Home 64 bit, AMD 3650 2.6 ghz, 8 gb ram (max is 8gb from what hp said), 1tb hdd (only 150gb used)

Komplete 11 sys requirements:

Intel Core 2 Duo / AMD Athlon 64 X2 or higher, 6GB or more recommended, 122GB free disk space (for complete installation)

Could even be poor software quality in the plugins themselves (bugs, inefficient algorithms). You'd need to find an expert in the said software to get the best answer, possibly.

But you may be better off saving money for a new CPU/system. AMD A6-3650 is getting fairly old. Have you checked in Task Manager how much RAM is being used?

Key is finding the actual bottleneck(s) for your application (music editing software).

I read up here that the best CPU I can even get is the AMD 3870K which I'm hearing may not produce noticeable differences. I thank all of you who took the time to respond to my questions. It is greatly appreciated. I guess I just have to get a new PC.

Yes, that CPU and system is pretty much at the end of its life and upgrade chain.
Time for a whole new one...:)
