Hello guys,

Recently i purchased a new ssd for my pc (samsung 860 pro)
My mobo is gigabyte GA-970A-UD3P
The problem began when i ran the performance benchmark in magician and the results werent as good

Sequential (Mb/s):
Read=263
Write=498

After some researched i realized that the ssd should be in ahci mode to get the best results
In magician seems that ahci mode is off
so i checked in bios and there i saw that port 0-3 are in ahci mode and the ssd is connected in port 0
Also in device manager at IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers there is nothing about ahci like standard sata ahci controller

anyone knows how to solve this?
Thanks

Change it to AHCI in the bios. Save. Boot into safe mode and wait for the AHCI driver to initialize. Reboot PC.

Thanks for quick reply, but I have nothing to change in bios. As I said in bios port 0-3 were in ahci mode when I looked there. So after your reply checked again in bios, all were okay then go to safe mode and nothing happened

Under Peripherals in the bios set OnChip SATA Type to AHCI. Wait a few minutes in safe mode. Then reboot.

I fixed that(I can see now in device manager the SATA standard ahci controller) , but now I have a new problem :wahoo:
In Samsung Magician ahci mode is deactivated. How can I activate that?
Thanks again

Is your samsung magician program updated to the latest version? I once had a bug before where it didn't show AHCI mode correctly. Do a test with crystal disk mark and let me know what your speeds are.

Those numbers look MUCH better. Your SSD is working as it should.
