Hey guys, I have problem with my SSD.

I can access my all data on SSD from system installed on HDD, but i cant remove anything from SSD or format it. I'm not able to remove volume in Disk Manager(The request could not be performed because of an I/O device error ) https://prnt.sc/octluo

Can somebody help me? Thanks!

Is the account you are using an administrator account? If yes, then I'd say you need to start over with that drive. Something is definitely wacky.

You might try selecting ALL of the files and folders on the drive, then right click them and next to the box that says "read only", click it until there is nothing in the box, save settings and try again.

Otherwise you are probably going to need to use something like Gparted to wipe all the partitions, create a new one, format it and assign a drive letter, and then check to see if it's working normally after that in windows. Or, you can simply use Gparted to eliminate all the partitions on the drive and then try to use Disk management to create a new volume and assign it a drive letter, after which you should be able to format it.

Thanks, I will try with GParted and I'll let you know what happened.

Some SSDs become read-only when they have exhausted all available spare blocks.

Can you show us a SMART report?

That's what I asked earlier, whether or not everything was showing as read only or not. They never indicated on that point. Slightly different but same idea.

Its not read-only but there are some random partitions in Disk Management

  1. If you physically disconnect the SSD in question, does the system boot up properly?
  2. Is (or rather was) there any data on this drive you desperately need?
My data is accessible but not editable/removable. My OS is on it and I'm not able to boot OS on it because it crashes.

Ok, so not "editable or removeable" but what about "copyable? Can you copy data from that drive to another one, or no?

If you create a bootable Linux distro like Ubuntu, on a flash drive, and boot from that WITH the other drive connected, can you move or copy files from that drive to another location?

Do you get errors or messages when you try to do these operations or does it just not allow access to the files at all, or shut down/BSOD?

I can access all data from another OS and copy it, but I want to bring my SSD back to life if it is possible.
