SSD questions

I'm doing a new build and plan on getting an M4 Crucial 128gb SSD as a boot drive, but I have absolutely no experience with SSD.

Are there any settings I need to change in my bios? What about firmware, do I need to install/update before I put windows 7 on it? I read about a couple people saying to tweak the SSD but they never go in depth, what are they talking about?
