Hi guys

Uhm, ive been struggling with my SSD's lately. I tried to make a raid out of this but I found out it was much harder than I thought.

For some reason, one of the SSD's wont show up in the raid configuration utility, this was when I had both SSD connected to two the 6gb/s SATA inputs.

The only thing that showed up was my OCZ SSD and the HDD, the SSD wouldnt show up..So I tried to switch from the 6gb sata input to where the HDD was to see if maybe this solved my problem, and it did. I had to remove both SSD from the 6gb to the 3gb/s to make them show up at the same time, why is this?

I got a sabertooth p67 motherboard, this has 2 6gb/s connectors and 6 3gb/s.

My SSDs are crucial M4 128gb and OCZ vertex 4 128 gb.

I mean it works now, but I want to be using my 6gb ports (obviously)...

Oh yeah and btw, I could see both SSD's in the BIOS but COULD NOT make them show up in the raid config before I switched ports..

Do you have 4-black ports, 2-Brown ports and 2-gray ports?
If so which ones were you trying to use first (the ones you had trouble with).

I had the problem with the grey/white port (6gbit)...

But the SSD works perfectly in RAID0 when connected to 3gb ports. (black ones)

Wtf...

I would keep them as 2 separate SSD drives and forget about RAID. Assuming you are talking about RAID 0 , the speed difference between a single SSD and RAID0 SSD will not be noticeable in real-world performance. Additionally you will have twice the failure rate on an RAID 0 array if you are running 2 drives and may sacrifice TRIM support.
