Hi, I really don't know much about SSD's so I was wondering if somebody could point me in the right direction.

Basically, this is what I am looking at. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Western-Digital-WDS120G2G0A-Internal-Green/dp/B078WYS5K6/ref=pd_sbs_147_2?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B076XWDN6V&pd_rd_r=8495f5fe-ef07-11e8-9b97-b1c6d07c4ee4&pd_rd_w=7zVBx&pd_rd_wg=0NLRw&pf_rd_i=desktop-dp-sims&pf_rd_m=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE&pf_rd_p=18edf98b-139a-41ee-bb40-d725dd59d1d3&pf_rd_r=KDTTW0C0Y6JBCY2ZS815&pf_rd_s=desktop-dp-sims&pf_rd_t=40701&refRID=KDTTW0C0Y6JBCY2ZS815&th=1

1) What is the difference between the stick looking thing, and the actual SSD (2.5 inch option vs M.2 2280 option) are they both as fast as each other?

2)My motherboard is a MSI B350 Gaming Plus, would this support the stick.

3) If I bought the stick version is it just a case of plugging it into the motherboard and going?

Sorry for all the bad questions, I literally know nothing about SSDs :(

(Also my budget is quite tight that's why I've gone for a cheap one!)

Thanks guys!! :D

Solution
1. With that particular drive, there is no performance difference. Both are SATA III.
Just a different package and means of connection.

2. Yes.

3. Mostly, yes.
Is this in a new system, or are you adding this to an existing system?

Hello,

I'm just adding to an existing system. I just had a bit of spare money laying around so I fancied finally buying an SSD for my OS to go on. I just watched a video on YouTube, it mostly seems just a click in and screw down, is that correct?

Yes.
And then you have to get the OS on it. Planning on a clean install, or a clone operation?

It's probably just going to be a clean install. I'm planning on wiping my HDD clean installing the OS on the SSD and just going from there.
