I'll start with the current challenge that seems easy. I am using the Seagate Linux bootable USB Utility tool to see if I can wipe my SSD safely and quickly.

It is dancing around the fact that any drive can do it then reassuring that only Seagate branded items can erase using it.

My Samsung 840 500gb SSD is in a locked state and locked in disk 0 unable to be initialised or even wiped efficiently.

I am using all the software but all I can get is a slow tedious rewrite to 0s.

I was wondering if anyone has had experience doing what I am doing? I am sure there is literally a one line code that can help me .
