  • 1 x M.2 connector (Socket 3, M key, type 2242/2260/2280/22110 SATA and PCIe x4/x2 SSD support) (M2A_32G)
  • 1 x M.2 connector (Socket 3, M key, type 2242/2260/2280 SATA and PCIe x2 SSD support) (M2P_16G)

What slot is the current M.2 drive in, and what is it?

This one:

A 500 GB WD Black

Probably in M2A slot.

Any current NVMe second drive (the 980) will be hampered in the other M.2 port.
It will work, but your benchmark numbers will be halved.

so in short, im fine just putting it in the available slot?
"Any current NVMe second drive (the 980) will be hampered in the other M.2 port. " would this be a problem?

It will work.

When you run a CrystalDiskMark test, it WILL show as much slower than the advertised specs.
Then, you'll come here wondering what is "broken", and what to "fix".

There is nothing to "fix", it is what it is.

But in actual use, you'd see little or no user facing difference.

What do you use this system for?

yes i would like it to work, but work well and provide it the best ssd slot within my system. the ssd itself im buying will be used to run ark survival evolved on. a 500gig game that desperately needs an ssd.

my current ssd is used for windows mostly. and one or 2 games but ensure its got plenty of free space
