I have double boot an HP compaq CQ60 laptop with vista ultimate and Xubuntu that I prefer to use because my laptop is faster and second I have en externall Hard disk Seagate 500GB that the cover has broken in a transfer .
I change it with an atlantis and it was ok untill I was having an idea to change with a stronger enclosure I buy an wintech enclosure connect it and be the miracle
Now something must happend because when i connect the usb3 enclosure to my usb2 that the box said was compatible my laptop was restart I put the externall hard disk to seagate dock and nothing my dock was closed when it was having this externall hard disk,
I connect it to speciall sata cable that end to USB the externall hard disk start to become extremely hot but nothing .
In both cases I am not hearing any sound nothing from my hard disk .
In this Part I want to ask 2 questions :
1st Any idea
2nd I have read some ideas to take the files from the disk in a raw format from programs like dd_rescue but how you can now the path of the hard disk if you do not hear it and you do not see it in the system?

After I change it no , it is not working either I think I broke this case because the usb in the old enclosure can make a move up and down

The PCB as I am looking it now does not have something that I can see it as broken ?

No I do not have measure
