Question SSD sata vs M.2

so, i want to upgrade my pc storage, to expand my games storage
which one should i take? Sata or M.2
my friend who have computer hardware store, suggest me to buy sata rather than M.2
because M.2 is more fragile than sata
M.2 easily broken if i have unstable electricty & M.2 is easily to overheat
is it true?
im using my pc just for gaming

The reason I wouldn't buy an M.2 for gaming is that I don't think the speed difference is worth the money as far as gaming.

....as far as M.2s being easily broken and overheating.....I haven't heard much regarding that.

Slight clarification - SSD can be both at the same time - SATA and M.2.

M.2 and 2.5" is form factor,
SATA and NVME - protocol.

Possible combinations:

2.5" /SATA​

M.2 /SATA,​

M.2 /NVME.​

If it's just for gaming, then SATA SSDs, lower priced than equivalent sized M.2 NVMe makes more sense as speed difference will not be as apparent, put price difference to better use like higher capacity.

yeah of course, if i buy samsung m.2 its definitely not worth
but i found Adata SSD sata and m.2 on my country online store, have a really good price

for Adata SSD SU800 (sata) 1 TB $118.86
and Adata XPG m.2 2280 SX600 1TB $126.92

is it recommended to buy adata for ssd?

I'd get Samsung or Crucial MX SATA SSD if not on a tight budget.
