Hello all, this is my first post. I ALWAYS make sure I search every possible thread before simply taking up peoples time and asking a question without putting in the leg work to find answers. This has always helped me find an answer until now. I have tried every tip I have found but must still be missing something and I'm hoping someone can help me.
I have 120 GB SSD, 111 GB after formatting. Up until a few days ago I had plenty of free space, since I mainly load my other hard drive with everything. I noticed last night windows explorer suddenly says I only have about 5.8 GB free space. Per posts I read from this forum and other I tried calculating what is taking up space.
I tried CMD function and CHKDSK to see whats I have. I tried Windirstrat, and TreeSize professional. They all say I only have 56 GB used on my SSD, yet also show only 5.8 GB free. I cannot account for the 55 GB I should have free. I tried running these same programs on an Admin account I made but the numbers didn't change like it did for other people who were able to find what was taking up the space.
Has anyone else had this issue and were you able to figure it out? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
*update* I checked "list unknown" for windirstrat and a big block of unknown data taking up the missing space is there. I ran the program as administrator but cannot access or even tell what this unknown data is.
