Greetings all, I've bought myself a SSD and have researching how to install SSD and placing HDD as a secondary disk drive. Long story short, I've been looking at how to configure the BIOS settings, what I'm trying to do is putting the CD/ROM at first to load so i can install it on SSD. However, the BIOS interface looks entirely different from what I seen, so I'm not sure what to touch. Pictures below.

This is the main menu.

This is the standard settings for hardware (I think) I'd assume this is the list but this Master and Slave system is alien to me so I'm not sure if this is the correct list.

This is the advance settings, I noticed some familiar setting which i think I will be changing (Like Hard Disk Boot Priority) And the First, Second, and Third Boot Device settings. I have a feeling they could be it but I wanna be sure first. So if anyone have experience with Gigabyte BIOS settings, please help.

In case anyone need to know the specs:

And in case you wanted to know what I plan on doing completely.

1. Remove L-wire from HDD, screw SSD in and plug in the L-wire on SSD.
2. Boot and access BIOS, adjust settings by moving CD/ROM as first harddrive to boot.
3. Run Window OS installer from a disc and install it. Custom option and choose SSD.
4. Restart and access BIOS and switch SSD to first boot.
5. Turn off computer and replug HDD, access BIOS and make it second boot.

Obviously, I have missed a lot of things out, I would appreciate it if you point them out. So there are other questions if you don't mind answering.

- How do I make sure the HDD is just a storage and not a Primary hard drive?
- I plan on using a clone software to transfer important files to my SDD, what software would you guys recommend?
- Is there something I need to keep in mind?

Thank you. And apologies for the long post.

Solution
In the Advanced BIOS Features screen, select CDROM for the First Boot Device to make it boot from CD. When you're ready to boot from the SSD, select Hard Disk Boot Priority and make your SSD the first choice, then return to the Advanced BIOS Features screen and select Hard Disk.

The Master/Slave thing is left over from PATA days: it looks like your HDD is plugged into SATA 5 and the CD drive SATA 7. You could plug in one drive and move it from one socket to the next to verify the mapping but the model#/serial# on the Standard CMOS Settings screen should be enough to tell you what's where.
