Question SSD showing as optical drive

Hi. I recently installed a second Crucial MX500 2gb SATA SSD drive. I have an alienware aurora r7, which has two SATA SSD drives so I know its in the correct drive bay, and the connectors are correct. I was able to initialize and format it ok in Windows 10, but it is showing in both the BIOS and Windows 10 as an optical drive, not a hard drive. Can anyone advise why its doing this and whether this is a problem if I want to use the drive to store games? Many thanks.
