I've got a new SSD drive to try and spark new life into an old Samsung laptop. The SSD drive shows up fine in windows setup and I can format it etc. but when I go to continue with the setup it comes up with the error "Windows cannot be installed to this disk this computer's hardware may not support booting this disk ensure that disk's controller is enabled in the computer BIOS menu."

I've tried every option in BIOS including making sure AHCI is selected. I'm completely stumped. Laptop is a Samsung RV510 and it has the latest BIOS version.

Yep, I've formatted the disk, made it active and it shows in windows setup fine. Plugged in the old hard drive and that shows in BIOS fine, when swapped with the new one there's nothing there. It's quite a basic BIOS and there's not too many options to try.
