I have a question regarding my Dell Inspiron 15.6" Laptop, it came with a 256gb ssd, my understanding is that with an ssd that the boot time of the machine would be some what quicker then with an hdd. It will sit on the dell boot logo for almost a minute before it loads into the OS. Is there anything that I could do to speed the load time up?

From the other replies i do agree that is can be the Bios giving you that load time with the Dell Logo. Also SSDs can slow down overtime. How long have you had your SSD in your laptop for? It can just be getting old or going bad.

Another method that can probably help you with your boot time is having less programs starting up with the boot.
you can see the startup impacts on the programs...
Well....it almost sounds like "the Dell Boot Logo" is actually the BIOS....so it could be sitting in the BIOS for a minute and have nothing to do with the SSD.

As far as why it's sitting in the BIOS...I have no idea...but I would definitely change out the CMOS battery.

Another thing to do would be to set the BIOS to defaults and try it. Just remember that if you made any changes to note them before you do this.

you can see the startup impacts on the programs by going to "Task Manager/ Bottom right click "More Details"/ Startup tab/ disable programs you do not need to boot up when starting your PC.
