Hey guys, recently I have been having an issue with my SSD boot time being incredibly slow when compared to when it was first used and need some advice. I built this computer in 2013 and this SSD is the original drive for windows (paired with a 1TB WD black for storage).
Back when the build was new and probably up until about October - November of 2015 the boot time had been around 10-15 seconds (before the windows logo could fully form), however, around that time the drive began to slow down to around 20-30 seconds. Understandable considering the age and data that has been written, but about a month ago the SSD really began to falter, going upwards of 2 minutes to boot, and within the last week alone the drive has gone from ~3 minutes to just over 4.
It seems like the slow down is getting slower at a faster rate and I don't know what it means. Once I realized the capacity of the drive I tried to avoid installing new files on it and mostly install to my 1TB HDD, and so I don't believe the issue is with software or drivers that I have installed. My other storage drives are operating just fine and at a normal rate, including the original 1TB HDD.
Basically I just need some basic insight or advice on what I should do. I have looked at optimization and tried everything for that, and health tests for the drive seem to check out (I used SpeedFan). Is the drive reaching the end of its cycle or is it some other issue? Thanks for the help!
P.S
I also started using sleep/hibernate mode after idle for 2 hours around August of 2015. This seems to follow the pattern the closest but I haven't found much on it. I used to use it when I first got the computer but switched it off until the date above.
