SSD Space Issue

Hello guys !
i've bought 128GB SSD. i just have installed windows 7 on it. the total available space id 119GB and after installing windows it's showing 101 GB is free of 119 GB ? why is that ? i check properties of all the folders inside drive windows 7 took 11 GB. there should be 108 GB is free of 119 GB ?

why it;s showing less space to me ? is there any problem in my SSD ? kindly guide me !!

A drive that is advertised at 128GB will actually show 119GB in Windows.
You have not lost any space, this is what it is supposed to be. And is not strictly SSD only.

This is merely a difference in reporting numbers, and which application is telling you the size.

Use Windirstat to see where the space is being used, but it's probably hidden files like the pagefile

Pagefile & hibernation file can take 10-12gb easily & will expand over time.

Pagefile can be disabled. If you never use hibernation you can also disable it. http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/15101-63-pagefile-hiberfil-gigantic-filling If you do make any changes make sure you know how to unbake that cake. You might also create a system restore point before making any of those changes.

yes i used this software. both files page and hiber has occupied the space. thankyou
