I have an Ultra Plus 120gb ssd and I just did a clean install of windows on it. It created a 40gb partitions that I can't combine with the rest of my storage on the ssd. Is this supposed to happen?

Solution
Hi

I assumed it was a new un used hard drive when windows vista or latter creates a small hidden boot partition and uses rest for windows c: partition

If it had existing partitions windows it may offer to format one and install windows there

If you start again , take advanced option to remove all existing partitions, then create new partition using all of SSD

Back up any important data before proceeding

If you also have a hard drive remove it or disconnect to ensure windows is properly installed on SSD

Hi

What sort of windows installed ?

Installing vista or latter will create a small boot manager partition size in Meg not GB (Assuming using retail or system builder OEM windows )

Using manufacturers recovery disk sets frequently create a recovery partition of 4 to 20 GB

If hard disk over 2 TB and or gpt partitions a number of small partitions are created
