So I'm looking to soon get a new M.2 for my PC and currently I have a Samsung 970 Evo and I'm looking at getting the Team Group Z440 1TB and I looked in my motherboard's manual and it says it's supports Intel, Kingston, Samsung, and SanDisk. But I find it hard to believe that it only supports four brands when I can think of eight off the top of my head and so I just want to make sure it'll work before it gets ordered. I have the ASRock B450 Steel Legend.

i've never seen a mobo limit the brands it can handle. i'd not really worry about that.

i assume you are adding a second m.2 rather than replacing the 970 evo?? frankly adding 1 tb is not really that much. i'd get at least another 2 tb for a data drive and leave the 970 evo you have as the OS/program drive.

Are you adding a second drive or replacing current one?
970 evo is not an option for you?
I'm getting an extra drive since my only other 2 are a 7200RPM WD Blue and a 5400RPM WD enterprise drive. And I could go for a 970 but it's more expensive compared to the MSI M450 or the Team Group M34. I can get a 970 Evo for $110 or I could get a different M.2 from a reputable brand for like $70-80
