[SOLVED] SSD TLC or SSD QLC with optane

Hey,
I'm about to buy a new Lenovo laptop, but I'm stuck between the following choices for the hard drive,

512 GB SSD-drive, QLC + 32 GB Optane SSD-drive, M.2 2280, PCIe-NVMe
vs
512 GB SSD-drive, M.2 2280, PCIe-NVMe, TLC

Price is the same, but I'm clueless what to pick and why..

Any input appreciated

You don't need optane with SSD's. Optane is meant to speed up HDD's and make them seem as fast as SSD's. Combining SSD's with optane drives provide little to no noticeable performance boost. Get the one without the optane

Optane on top of an SSD (any type) is a waste of money and an M.2 port.

Just have the SSD.

So even though the prices are exactly the same - no optane?
I do not plan on using the m.2 port later.

No optane.
Increased complexity for no real performance gain.

And future plans can change...😉

Yeah, no optane. I'm surprised it's no extra charge but they're most likely substituting a cheaper storage SSD for it.
