SSD transfer speed drops off

I have had an ssd for about a year now and its just recently started having problems. I can delete items from the ssd and copy items from the ssd at full speeds, but when copying files to the sdd, it starts at full speed and after the first gigabyte or so, the speed just drops off down to a couple megabytes. Disk usage for the ssd is at 100% in task manager and average response time is at 1000ms. I have tried error checking and chkdsk and both come up with nothing. I have formatted the disk without quick format to see if it could come up with anything and it found nothing. Copying files to another ssd transfers at full speed. I have tried changing the sata port and the issue still persists. Does anyone have any idea what might be going on? I suspect a failing ssd, but I wouldnt think it would failing only after a year. Any ideas are appreciated.

gtx 770
Windows 10 64 bit pro
24gb ram
120gb PNY ssd: drive with issue
500gb Samsung evo 850: has no issues
1tb western digital: has no issues
1tb toshiba: has no issues

try disabling shadow copy in services... if it works leave it off. if it doesnt re- enable it.

A SSD need an available nand block to do a write to.
As the ssd gets full, there are fewer available free nand blocks available.
The ssd then needs to make more available.
As your ssd reaches 90% full, expect it to slow down and lose endurance.
If you have been operating at near capacity for a while, you may have lost update capability of some blocks.
I think you can see this in the SMART statistics.

Sounds to me like it is time to replace the 120gb ssd with a larger one.

The ssd is formatted with no data on it, it still has this issue

Doing a crystaldiskmark test of 50MiB on the drive with issues while its empty, the results are seq read 496.9 MB/s and the write is 3.879 MB/s

I booted a live cd of linux and tried copying a file from a good drive to the suspected bad drive and the same issue occurred. Does this sound like a failing ssd?

yep. have you checked with the drive manufacturer. samsung gave out a fix for there drives your drive manufacturer may have done the same.

I have emailed the drive manufacturer asking about a fix or starting a warranty claim, but I haven't heard anything from them yet because it is the weekend.

yeah mate it normaly takes PNY 48 hours during the week 3-5 days if you shout at em on a weekend...

The official answer to this thread is the ssd failed and PNY will warranty it. I will mark your answer correct though. Thank you all for your input and help.
