Hi all, I'm having a bit of an issue with the read/write speeds on my SSD's.

I'm currently copying a large file (~170gb) from my 970 EVO Plus M.2 to my Crucial BX500 sata SSD. As you can see in the attached image this happens at around 5MB/s.

At the start of the transfer it boasts 300/400MB/s then quickly drops to around 5MB/s, now I'd assume that's just buffering.

I have checked the drives for errors using HDTune Pro which reports both drives are perfectly fine. I believe both firnmwares are up to date and the 970EVO uses Samsung NVMe Controller.

Could anyone reccomend something to try? I would expect to see speeds of around 300-400MB/s.

Ryzen 5 3600
5700 XT
MSI X570 MPG
Crucial BX500 960gb (sata)
Samsung 970 EVO Plus (M.2)

Thanks in advance.

Yeah I get that, but does the 4-7MB/s speeds seem normal even at the crawl?
Yes.
It slows right down to HDD performance.
