Hi, I recently installed a brand new SSD into my system, and installed Windows 8.1 Pro on it. It runs speedy fast, my PC boots very quickly, and other praise about SSD Master Race. The problem I've been having is that randomly my SSD usage (in Windows task manager) goes up to 100%, and my system locks up. It happens for 25 seconds, then goes back down. I can't use anything during this time, although my mouse will still move. I have seen the processes running while this happens, and a generic "system" is at the top of the list. Any help is greatly appreciated!
EDIT: Forgot this, but system is extremely slow and unresponsive for up to a minute after restarting.

it can happen when I'm playing a game, or just when I am sitting on the desktop.

cool article, I turned off defrag on my ssd, we'll see if that helps, thanks!

I just did this for my SSD. After Windows updates it seemed to have started spiking to 100% randomly, usually when playing games but occasionally also when idle or doing simple tasks.

Did it work for you, in the end?
