Hello everyone,

for my dad's birthday i'd like to get him an ssd. I was thinking about an nvme ssd but it seems his motherboard doesn't support it (ga 990fxa ud3). I was thinking about adding the modules to the bios but i haven't found too much about it for amd platforms. So i'm thinking about either going samsung 750 evo, 850 evo, 850 pro or plextor m8pey.

Now, i can't justify the price for an 128gb 850 pro and a 750 evo 120gb fits my budget more but there are mixed reviews on that one. so i was thinking about an 128gb 850 evo for the 5 year warranty but it costs exactly the same as a 750 evo 250gb. I was also thinking about a plextor m8pey which seems to support trim as well as nvme and i'm not sure if it'll be compatible with the mobo. However, since it has pcie support, i'd like to give a premium if it would work.

What's your opinion or can you suggest any other quality ssd's under the 100 euro available in belgium or is there any way to get this board to support nvme?

Thanks in advance!

I ended up buying an 850 evo 250gb since I randomly found it locally after mom forced me to go shopping hah but I didn't choose the wrong answer though. I took the least harsh answer :3
