SO i just got a Sandisk SSD Plus 240gb, is there a way to effectively partition and then migrate my Win 10 OS on my HDD to the SSD?
Any specific programs or recommended method ?

Solution

As of the November release, v. 1511, Build 10586.xxx, yes you can.

1. How large is the SSD? 240GB
2. How large is the total used space on your current C partition?
3. Does the system currently work just fine?

1. 240gb
2. Currently my (C: ) HDD is 169gb free of 930gb (1 TB) (E: ) the external is 801gb free of 1.5 TB

3.And yes it works well so far, i game regualarly, but also i just aim to transfer etc my Win 10 OS and maybe install a game or 2 ( ones i play so often)

I did this about a month ago so it's pretty fresh in my mind.
First: Power down your PC and plug in the new SSD
Second: Install Acronis True Image with either a free Trial or sometimes a code comes with the SSD
Third: Select the "Clone Disk" option in Acronis
Fourth: Select Automatic and Click Next
Fifth: Choose your Source Disk then choose your Destination Disk (your new SSD)
It will ask you a couple of questions and then you'll reboot.
Acronis will not clone the Hard Drive if there isn't enough space on the SSD.
On my PC I needed to move the new SSD to the Old SSD's old SATA slot to work.
Good Luck and congrats on an SSD

Here is a better visual lol

Analyze your current used space.
If you can see it below 200GB, leaving out the games, then we can continue with working on a migration operation.
Otherwise...a clean install on the new SSD.

I also have another alternative i'm thinking, maybe I can install Win 7 on the SSD? I have the Win.7 Retail version
and then do the upgrade to win 10 feature without risk of having to uninstalling majority of the files?

That falls under the concept of "clean install".

You can install Win 10, and use the existing Win 7 license key during the install. No need to install Win 7 first and then Upgrade to Win 10.
However....all your applications would need to be reinstalled with the new OS.

Such a bummer trying to reinstall everything with the Comcast Data download limiting :/
yea i'm right now clearing sapce up to just make a back up and then clean installing,
So i didn't realize you can use a retail win 7 key for Win 10 install?
