Hello all,

I am new to the community but I often come to this site to get advice but decided to join to get help and maybe help out others :)

I currently have a single HDD 1TB...

I have an OEM version of Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit

My specs if this helps is

Asus P8Z77-V PRO
Intel i5
Nvidia geforce gtx 560 ti
8GB DDR3 RAM
800w power supply

what I want to do is, buy 2 new drives one a SSD and one a HDD. I want to make the SSD as the main, how would I get my OS onto this (I am a newb)
Would I just use my OEM disc? Also is it possible to have the other 2 HDD on there too, one as a backup system and one to store program files and storage like music?

Thanks

Very easy. When you install your OS (OEM disc is fine of course) you will be prompted for where to install it, just pick the ssd. You should go into your BIOS first and make sure it is set for AHCI mode. You can also format the hdd from this screen if you wish. Once you get the other hdd hook it up, boot into windows, go to disc management and initialize the drive/assign a letter. You can have as many hard drives/solid state drives as your mobo has ports for. Good luck!
