what the title says , i can buy ssd 500gb evo 850 samsung with i5 6600k
or
i can buy i7 6700k without ssd

rest of the build
MOBO= ASUS Z170 PRO GAMING
HDD=500GB ALREADY HAVE IT
HDD2=500GB ALREADY HAVE IT
GPU=GTX 1070
RAM= 16GB 2400MHZ CL12
PSU= 750W COOLERMASTER 80+BRONZE

I vote for I-6600K and the ssd.

I will never again build without a ssd for the "C" drive. Everything is simply faster.

Moreover, for gaming, a I5-6600K with an overclock will perform exactly the same as an overclocked I7-6700K.
That is because so few games can actually make use of more than 2-3 threads. The I7 hyperthreads will go unused.

As of 5/2016
What percent can get an overclock at a somewhat sane 1.40v Vcore.

I7-6700K
4.9 2%
4.8 17%
4.7 59%
4.6 93%
4.5 100%

I5-6600K
5.0 2%
4.9 11%
4.8 36%
4.7 64%
4.6 88%

And... I think you can find better quality for your psu; look for tier 1 or 2

sure, but it's easy to use symbolic links to shift the less critical junk like Downloads, MyDocs, MyPics, etc to a plain hard drive so that the "default" is redirected automatically for all programs
