Question SSD worth installing?

I have a mid-2012 MacBook Pro with 4GB ram and VERY SLOW. I'm learning coding languages, and Xcode runs like a snail. Is it worth installing a SOLID STATE DRIVE?
Samsung vs Crucial vs SanDisk?

I think it is very much worth it.
Years ago I switched all my PCs (3) over to SSDs and I would never go back.
They boot much faster and everything loads much faster.

As far as the manufacturer.....I have both Samsung and Crucial and life has been good.....although I think Samsungs might be held in higher esteem....although that may depend on the model.

Awesome- Thanks Jay. Seems like a much better option than spending$2400 on a new MBP, which is pretty ridiculous.
Any preference on brand?
Based on the research I've done, Crucial looks to be pretty good- maybe Samsung?

The last one I bought was a Samsung EVO.

I wouldn't expect the size to matter as far as speed goes. I may be wrong...but I don't think size matters.
I would just make sure I got one big enough for now and the future.

I play a lot of games....and I find 500GB to be plenty for me.

I usually have around 3 big games (50-60GB) and a bunch of smaller ones and still have lots of room left.

Get the biggest SSD that you can afford so you can fit windows plus all your programs and games on it

1tb is excellent if you can find a deal. 500gb is very affordable and good as well
