So i am currently in the means of building a brand new PC, what is the difference between NAND SSD's and Sata SSD's? I see there is a little bit of a price difference, is it just that case of plugging them straight into the motherboard compared to fitting them into the case?

Or is there actually a spec difference, i'm currently looking into the Samsung 850 EVO Series, atm i have a normal SATA SSD, but am looking to get another for a new PC, should i go NAND? Would love some info on the matter!

I'm looking to get a 1TB SSD, so i would love some recommendations!

Thanks in advance!

OK then...my recommendation:
Samsung 960 EVO NVMe 250GB - £205

OS and all your applications.

2 x 850 EVO (2.5" SATA), in whatever sizes meets your budget and needs.

My current system is also SSD only. 5x mixed drives, all 2.5" SATA.
Nand SSD's use a different type of connection (M.2), which allows faster data transfer. Conventional SATA SSD's are slower, but tend to be cheaper than the Nand SSD's. Apart from the fact that 1TB of SSD storage is VERY expensive, consider that not all motherboards support M.2.

What specific motherboard do you have?
NAND just refers to the type of cells, not the overall drive.

OK...any board that will take that CPU will also use an NVMe SSD. Connected via an m.2 port on the motherboard.

The 3 terms you need to internalize are NVMe, SATA, and m.2.

M.2 is simply the format...the mounting type.
An m.2 drive can be either SATA or NVMe protocol.

The NVMe drives are faster, but more expensive for the same size.
SATA drives can be had in either m.2 format or traditional 2.5" size.

A 1TB NVMe drive like the Samsung 960 is pretty spendy.
What do you use this for, and what other drive sizes will be in this system?

You might want to consider a 500GB NVMe drive, and a couple of other larger SATA SSD's.

I am plan on using this for Gaming and streaming. Will most likely be editing videos and uploading them also, i am currently thinking 3x Samsung 850 EVO's at £107 each as it seems like a really good price. I plan on only using SSD's in this Build as i don;t really see a point in going for HDD's anymore. Especially wth a build this expensive xD

50/50.
The 960 NVMe drive is a significant speed boot, especially related to vid editing.
If it were only a game machine, the 850 EVO SATA drives would be fine.

And you can also add in another drive later, as budget and space needs expand.

If I were building a new system based on that CPU, I'd go with an NVMe drive for the main drive.
