SSHD vs 7200RPM 2.5" HDD vs SSD + External HDD

I plan on going abroad for a few years, and I will not bring my desktop. My laptop is a Lenovo E530. But I think its hard disk is too slow, so I was thinking about getting a faster one. A high capacity SSD would be too much for me, I cound only get a 120GB and all others go to external storage. I could also get a 7200RPM 2.5" drive while stock still lasts. Or I cound get a hybrid drive. What do you recommend? I don't really have a budget but I won't buy if its too expensive. What I wanted was about 750~GB1000GB of total storage.

I would get the SSD + External HDD. with SSD you will get fast boot times, less crashing, and better battery life (by like 15%).

SSHD 1TB if you're on a tight budget, but if you can, go with the SSD and external HDD

Since you have a laptop, (limited space for hard drives) I think the best solution would be to get a hybrid drive (SSHD). SSHDs are great value because you almost get the speed of an SSD and the capacity of a regular hard drive at only a little more expensive than a regular hard drive.

Another option (except twice the price) would be the WD dual drive, which basically is a 120 GB SSD and a 1 Tb hard drive in one enclosure, which is great for laptops. A bit pricey, but not nearly as expensive as a high capacity SSD. I hope this helps!

+1 iceblitzed, I don't think it would be possible to put both drives into your laptop, so go with an internal ssd with OS and all commonly used stuff on it, and then things like music, films, games, etc on an external hdd. A 120gb ssd will cost you around £50, and a 500gb external hdd would probably be around £30

This drive is actually an SSD and hard drive smashed into one enclosure so it should fit in your laptop.
