sshd vs hdd

Get the 2TB; the SSHD would make sense if you don't have the SSD.
In my 15 years of experience, I've seen lots of Seagate drives failed, I'm myself a WD fan.

Regular HDD.

SSHD is just a HDD with about 8GB of SSD-type storage on it. You have no control over what's in there and it's designed to automatically put the most used data on it, which should probably end up being your OS, Web browser, and other commonly used programs.

The point of an SSHD is for people who will use it as a boot drive and want a speed boost on ~8GB of commonly used programs, but importantly it's for people who can't have both a SSD and HDD. These are people who have SFF cases, essentially; the 2.5" SSHD are for the 1 drive laptop market.

Agreed, i would us a SSHD on a main drive but not as secondary. On my setup i have windows+Media and such on a SSHD and all the games on the SSD.

Unless they are the same price just get the HDD.

We are now starting to see an increased volume of SSHD drives in for data recovery...almost all here because of issues with the SSD, making for a significantly more complicated recovery. At this point, I can't recommend them.

thank you ill get the 2tb hdd over the 1tb sshd i just heard there faster even as a secondary drive

when did you all of the hdd fail because if wd is more reliable i wont mind spending the premium but with the new line of seagate HDD i thought they were pretty reliable also there cheaper also if i made a bad chose of hdd what do you think is the fastest hdd i can get i would like a 2 tb drive and i cant relay go over 80$

Are you from US? I'm from Canada and usually I buy from Newegg. Also I find sometimes good deals on Kijiji, for instance I've got a brand new sealed 4TB WD black for $120.
As a second drive, speed isn't that important. Get something within your budget and longest warranty.

yes i am located in the us and the thing is i do care about the speed of my hdd or will it not make a noticeable difference
