Hi everyone!! so im new to overclocking. For the moment I used MSI Afterburner to overclock the core clock and moved the temp limit to max and prioritised it, haven't touched the voltage yet. I would just like to know what is a stable overclock for the Galax GTX 960 EXOC 4GB. It wouldn't be to just slap it onto my cards overclock, i want it as a guideline to see what amount of overclock is still safe for my GPU. I'm using valley benchmark and running it for about 30 min to see if the overclock is stable. any advice is greatly appreciated!

I5 6500
Galax GTX 960 EXOC 4GB
16GB Ripjaws ddr4
Seasonic M12II 620w PSU

Any overclock with the stock bios should be safe the bios of the card wont let you push voltages beyond what it considers safe, if you push the core clock or memory clock too high its either going to crash valley or possibly blue screen or freeze but it wont cause any permanent damage, just turn down the clocks a bit if it happens.

Most 960s will hit 1500mhz or so on the core maybe a little more maybe a little less and about 8000 GT/s on the memory clock.

thanks very much for your quick reply. so in theory you could push the voltage slider to max and it would still be okay? also i wouldnt want the temps to be above 75celcius (or is that playing it too safe lol). But thanks again for the prompt response! 😀

That Galax card is MORE than capable of running the voltage slider at max and probably quite a bit beyond that, I would max it out if I was overcloking any 960 really, with a nice aftermarket card like that galax there would be no question. I doubt it lets you push it very far anyway, my old 760 only let me go +12mv which is nothing really. That cooler will probably keep that card in the 50s no problem with a full overclock if you tune the fan profile a bit. And no problem.
