"stains" on CPU

Hey yall,

The chip is an 8320.
Can anyone contribute to what these "stains" are?
The first thing that came to my mind are burn marks... but I'm not sure, and i'm not even sure how a burn could have happened, as the temps have never risen past 60C (according to CoreTemp) on this chip

The only coolers that have been installed on this chip were an H60 and then an h100i.
I noticed it when removing the h100i when I switched motherboards.

Edit: Forgot to mention that I am experiencing no issues with the CPU, it overclocks just as it should and temps are fine. I'm just curious

Just a total guess but it looks like heat marks to me, even though you say temps are fine.

It looks like when you put a metal spoon under a fire.

It's not a shadow. I applied a light to it when the chip was out of the mobo, and it is definitely "on" the chip. I spent quite some time scrubbing it with alcohol, but they never changed even in the slightest.

They are only visible when viewed from a certain angle, they are damn near invisible when viewed from the top of the chip. For example, the more you angle the view the more visible they become.

I assume you have paste on, but can you take a picture of the bottom of the heatsink?

No, I cannot do that..
But the h100i block is without defect. It has no imperfections or anything that lines up with the stains on the 8320.
