so i just build a new system today and booted it up and started installing drivers. im running msi z87 gd65 motherboard with an msi r9 270 graphics card.

i went to http://us.msi.com/product/vga/R9-270-GAMING-2G.html#download
selected the correct OS and installed the graphics drivers along with many other drivers for my motherboard. However when i go to "controle pannel --> device manager --> Display adapters"
the only thing that shows up is "Standard VGA Graphics Adapter".
This leads me to believe that it's not showing up that im using my graphics card even though im typing this message and using my machine currently on the GPU. or is that what this particular gpu is called in the device manager?

im also getting an error code "80" on the motherboard though im unable to find anything on that code.

so i actually figured out the problem. the Driver that MSI has on their website apparently does not work so i went to AMD 's site and installed the one from there and now it seems to have worked. device manager now says "Amd Radeon r9 200 series"
