Standby/Hibernate

I'm getting a message when I try to standby/hibernate in Win2K that the driver for COM1 port (Serial port) is preventing the system from going into standby/hibernate mode. I need to use the serial port so I can't disable or uninstall the port. Is there anyway to fix it by simply downloading a new driver from somewhere?

I've tried uninstalling/reinstalling, I already have SP2, I've tried copying serial.sys and serenum.sys directly from Win 2000 CD...
Still the same problem.

I have Fujitsu-Siemens D1192-A mobo, and I hate to admit but I'm using that port for Palm. Nobody from the Siemens has contacted me yet and I don't know if they ever will.

Just a shot in the dark, I don't know how the Palm connection software works.

If it continually polls the serial port, can you disable it when you don't need it (the software, not the port)?
