Standoff for M.2 question

Hi i have recently built my new system and was about to buy an M.2 SSD as soon as i found out my system would be working great but when i looking in my motherboard box there was no standoff and screw for the board and i was wondering could i use the spare case standoffs that i have or do i have to buy a new one and where to go about buying a new one.

And before anyone is to mention on contacting the company or store where i got my motherboard i already contacted Asus which told me to contact the vendor of which was old to me which then i called Newegg which they said they can't send out spare parts but rather i would have to send my motherboard back for a new one which i would have no PC for a few days.

Your best bet may be a small local computer shop for the parts. The standoff does not have the same threading as the ones used on the case, and the screw is a very tiny one that is also not found anywhere else. I don't think I've ever received either when buying a M.2 SSD.

Ok thanks ill check my local computer store if they have one for sale and if they do i hope it is not that much and also i wanted to know as well because in Canada (cause i know some people on here is usually in the states) i wanted to know if it is worth getting a 500gb WD Blue M.2 SSD for 125$.

As for the standoff, they way most motherboards put the screw thread in the board it may vary slightly in height.

Moddiy carries lots of standoffs, but it probably doesn't need to be super precise. Just more or less level with the slot. You should be able to measure it, even if by stacking something like coins to get an approximation.

Ebay has whole kits of standoffs for quite reasonable sums. But I suspect you'll just need to experiment with varying heights of M2 (Metric 2mm) standoffs.

WD Blue is a decent SSD for the price. The Crucial MX500 is about the same.

I've seen the Adata XPG recommended a few times. And the most common recommendation being the Samsung 860 Evo.

Amazon seems to have slightly cheaper prices for those kits.

I would rather get the whole box of standoffs for the same rough price than just a few or one. Certainly someone noticed a need in the market.

On the SSD, the WD Blue uses the SATA interface, so there is no speed advantage to getting the M.2 form factor. It gets rid of a cable, but that may be a trivial difference. If you don't care about the cable, you might find less expensive alternatives in the 2.5" form factor.

Well i looked a little more on amazon and i came across this one which it is saying it is made for Asus boards https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07D6G9XXL and it is also affordable as well and with the shipping it is around 15$ and it includes 3 sets so i think that would be helpful in case something ever happened to one of them or if a friend needs one.
