Starcraft 2 CPU Bottleneck?

Hello, recently I've been getting into Starcraft 2 again. I understand that this game is single-threaded and is more than likely a CPU bottleneck. I run everything on lowest settings and I still drop to 2-5fps in big battles.
I understand that Intel is better at running this game because it's single-threaded but I can't afford a new motherboard and CPU for a while, and this current system should be able to play it.

My specs :
8GB DDR3 RAM @ 1866MHz
AMD FX 8320 (8 core) @ 3.6GHz
ASUS NVIDIA GTX 770 OC'D @ 1.3GHz GPU 8GHZ

Help would be really helpful, I'm finding this unplayable.

Well I've got a clean install of Windows 8.1 fully up to date legit copy running off one of my SSDs and it still lags, I can run DayZ and other intensive games no problem but this is an issue.

Your phenom 2 is probably better suited to starcraft.

Starcraft can't use more 1 core I feel, so 7 of your cores are completely useless 2 it.

Have you maybe tried to not overclock your parts?

Is there ANYTHING else that this is happening in? or only starcraft?

SC2 has many issues with CPUs. Unfortnatelly, there is little to be done here to improve withouth getting a CPU that handles better the game.

There are a few small tweaks that might help a bit:

First, set sc2 game to use a different core than your Windows 8.1 uses (google it if not sure how), second set priority to sc2 as high as possible.

THese two might help a bit.

I've tried those before and I do that for most games, I also tried overclocking to 4.7GHz with only 4 cores earlier but I still think I shouldn't have to run it lowest settings (other than textures) to make it playable.

WEll, I cant be sure due to the fact that I have an Intel CPU.
Also, are we talking 1on1 or 3on3 games?
In 3on3 I never saw a lagless fight (its much more than just the CPU bottlenecking there).
I assume you did use Pre-loader before the game? (its a unit preloader for the ram, basicly a use map settings).

I'm not sure, it still works it's just NVIDIA drivers won't start. I've sent a technical support request thing will they take a return if it's damaged from overclocking?
