News Starfield on AMD's GPUs Fails to Render Stars

This is clearly AMD's fault for not showering Bethesda with even more money and twisting their arm more. Clearly. There's no other reading here. None.

/s?

EDIT: I forgot the non-sarcastic side of my thoughts! Yes, yes, there are some. Few, but still.

So how can you miss a whole system Star to render anywhere within your maps? That's like... I don't know what to equate or make a parallel to! Missing a whole car from your racing game? Missing the control tower from your combat ship? XD

I have to say these are kind of comical at this point. Most are sad, but I think I can laugh at this one at least. Asmongold has been getting some hilarious bugs as well.

Regards.

You mean, a Bethesda game launched with terrible performance and full of bugs. Why could possibly have expected such an outcome based on their past game releases over the previous (checks notes) two decades?
They used its horrible performance on Nvidia cards and other small complaints as camo to hide fact their 20+ year old game engine needs to be taken out back and shot... Come on, make a new engine already.

The drama about faces in Starfield just makes it obvious they just look like Oblivion characters still.

Maybe I can call it Starfailed after all :)

curious I didn't see anyone blaming Nvidia for any of Cyberpunks fails.

True, and, in my humble opinion, Nvidia deserved a fair share of the blame as well. They did a horrible job as far as their drivers were concerned and, if memory serves, they did not decently rectify the issue, until several months after the game's release had already passed.

I don't see anyone blaming AMD for the bug, either. People are merely pointing out the irony of Bethesda having an "exclusive partnership" with AMD on this.

Guess it was just how I read it.

blaming anyone for the missing stars apart from Bethesda would be silly.

it doesn't miss all the stars or space would just be dark. Its just missing the big ones that aren't just part of the background.

Yes they should use a new engine. They should use UE5 and make the game only use ray tracing for lighting.

They do need to optimize the game though. with that said I have not had any issues with starfield outside of 50 fps or so going from inside of buildings to the planet.

i haven't actually got the game yet. I need a better CPU as I have a 3600xt and its close to recommended but I question that. I ordered a 5800x3d today so see if that changes my mind on buying game.

I haven't really enjoyed any Bethesda games up until this point so I would be surprised.

3600xt since when did that exist? That would be very confusing if AMD decides to release a 7800xt cpu.
