Gus is correct - rockets are ideal for mine removal.
You can also use anti-fighter missiles such as SRM
Javelin or MRM Vector. Two missiles are needed
for each mine.

If you are using the standard Newtonian flight model,
you may also have good success circle-strafing the
mines with your guns at short range. This requires
a bit of skill. Approach a mine at a slight angle (i.e.
not a collision course) and when you get within gun
range - about 8 to 10 km - turn to aim your guns at
the mine. At the same time, use your hat switch to
"strafe" up, down, or to the side. This will have you
orbiting the mine while keeping your guns on target.
It will also make it more difficult for the turret on the
mine to track you, due to your rapidly changing lat-
eral velocity.
