I was wondering if anyone knew any utilities or programs or some registry hack or something that might allow me to remove the coloration from it completely, leaving the transparency.

I'm trying to match an overall theme and its the start menu's coloration thats really throwing it off.

Here's an image of what i'm trying to go for (the window bars at the top and taskbar)

I understand if you wish not to answer as I realize that this site is more for actual problems and such but i don't exactly know where else to ask about this. If anyone here would like to point me in the right direction towards somewhere to post about this (or maybe answer the question) I would be quite grateful.

Welcome, Mr Inohk, to Tom'sHardware and the Windows 10 section. This thread seems to be about a month old exactly and I hope you might have found a solution to your inquiry.

In the event that you haven't found a solution whereby you want the OS to look and feel more like a Windows 7 platform then you might want to follow this link whereby it shoots some workarounds:
http://www.laptopmag.com/articles/make-windows-10-like-windows-7

Though there are couple of things to look into before jumping head first into going for a third party solution to achieve the transparency effects.
1| Third party add on applications will essentially mean that your system will have to allocate some resources to said application to perform. Should you have bare minimum memory you can and will experience low memory prompts and suggestions to close applications or heavy work loads.
2| Resources consume power and thus dump heat so don't be surprised to see temps to hover above your previous known values or if you hear the fans ramping up.

To add to the suggestions for third party applications, you could also look into Stardock's offering, Star10.

Likewise see if these workarounds are of any use:
http://winaero.com/blog/aero-glass-and-transparency-for-windows-10/
and
http://www.askvg.com/collection-of-windows-10-hidden-secret-registry-tweaks/

Hope these help!

P.S: There's also Rainmeter if you wan't the theme to look out of the extraordinary :)

You can change the top bar colour though it also changes the start menu background colour and there seems to be no way to control them separately.
Open the start menu and type "accent" and click the option "Choose your accent colour".

In the settings window scroll down to the bottom and switch on "Show colour on Start, taskbar, action centre and the title bar". This will affect the colour on certain windows such as Windows Explorer windows. However, it also changes the taskbar and start menu colours to the same. More aesthetic control would be handy.

However as I said this may not answer your question as it changes everything else as well.
