I assume everyone already heard about this (f*cking) common issue with Windows 10.

I've tried everything I've found over the internet. sfc /scannow, some stuff in PowerShell, create a new user, uninstalling Avast and Dropbox, restarting and initiating safe mode, disabling everything in msconfig (boot), restoring to an old restore point (the day I upgraded from Win 7 to Win 10), something in "regedit". Nothing worked.

The only thing I couldn't do is update. Someone in the Microsoft forums told me there's a November Update which I can't access because the Start menu doesn't work and I can't open "Windows Update".

Start menu, calendar, calculator, right click, among other things, do not work at all. I'm sick of this, why the h3ll isn't Microsoft SOLVING THIS? THIS GET PEOPLE MAD!!!!!
I mean, one of the biggest companies in the world. In the WHOLE WORLD. Isn't there a fix for it? Isn't there people working to create one? This is not cancer for God sake, IS THE START MENUUUUUUUUUUuuuuuuuuuujsdkhfskjdfh

So, someone? I will pay you. Please, help 🙁

Thanks!

You can invoke Windows Update from command line using wuauclt.exe utility located in %windir%\system32\ folder.

To check for updates,

wuauclt.exe /detectnow
To check and update,

wuauclt.exe /detectnow /updatenow
This will not work if you have set "Never check for updates" in Windows Update settings. Also probably automatic updates must be enabled for '/updatenow' switch to work (install updates).

You can also start the GUI for Windows Update by entering following command (located in %windir%\system32\ folder):

wuapp.exe
This only opens the update application and checks available updates, it does not install them. Also if you have set "Never check for updates" in Windows Update settings, this does not checks for updates too, you will have to click the "Check for updates" button.

try forcing the update from CMD

wuauclt.exe /detectnow
wuauclt.exe /detectnow /updatenow

Those didn't work in cmd. It just doesn't appear any message or error, just nothing.

"You can also start the GUI for Windows Update by entering following command (located in %windir%\system32\ folder):
wuapp.exe"

What should I enter in cmd to start the GUI? I'm confused. I'm sorry!

Thanks a lot for your help!

The GUI is just what you use with your mouse and keyboard :) Open up the Windows Explorer (Folder Icon that lets you navigate) and try and run that program in that folder.

I've tried that already but I can't find the "Windows Update" anywhere. Is not in Control Panel, neither in Program Files or Windows folders.
