Start menu problem

after a while when i click on the start button it wont open start menu
what should i do

Boot in Safe mode and perform a system restore (choose any prebious
restore point when start menu was working).To use System Restore in Safe
Mode, press the F8 key during reboot and choose Safe Mode.
