Start up problems

Im having a problem whenever i try to wake my computer up after i get home from work it doesn't want to start up. Moving mouse, pressing buttons on the keyboard, pressing the restart button on the tower didn't work either. I was forced to unplug the tower completely wait 10 seconds and plug it back in and it started up. Is there anything I can do to fix this? should I just not let my computer hibernate? should I just shut my computer down instead of letting it hibernate?
