I accidental turned on my PC for the first time without the ATX 12v CPU power in to the motherboard. The CPU was installed along with the heat sink. I soon realised when it wouldn't turn on and Installed the cable. Would this have caused any damage?
Nope, your fine after turning of the powersupply and plugging in the correct cables, nothing to worry about
That's great to hear! Thanks for the reply .
My issue is now, that my PC will just turn on for about three seconds and then restart.
It will repeat this cycle until you remove the power source...
Use your Clear CMOS switch on your motherboard to restore default settings. Be sure to unplug the power supply first. Check your users manual if you cant find the CLRCMOS switch (2 or 3 little pins on your motherboard), or dont know what it is!

I've cleared the CMOS (Button on the mobo) however still no luck...
