Hi All

a friend wants to start his own small IT support business. He is aiming to support his local neighborhood and wants to know what sort of tools should he invest in before advertising his business.

Some basic screwdrivers, plastic pry tools if they are interested in working on laptops
Basically any external HDD dock would work fine
Software: Some form of robust AV, malwarebytes for cleaning, etc.

A side concern to address as time goes on: If they actively advertise for their "business" they are going to need a business license. Word of mouth is fine, but once you establish a name and a place of business youll need the license to protect yourself.

Some states will require bonding as well, and a license isn't a sufficient shield from liability. Insurance should on your radar very early on.
