Starting my first ever build. I would love some insight!

Hey everyone, first off, I'm Canadian (for pricing reasons), and I'm actually quite new to this website. (just made a user account as of 30 minutes ago) but I've been interested in building my own rig for a few years now. I did a lot of research for my girlfriend (At the time) who wanted to build her own and I fell in love with the idea. Problem was, I just recently bought a new laptop and I didn't play any video games at the time... I'm looking to build a computer that has a lot of "bang for your buck" and I've been savagely looking around the internet to find some awesome deals. Here's a list of things I've already purchased for my build and I hope you all can share some thoughts and yay and ney's for it.
- Note: I haven't bought the main components yet due to the fact that Zen is around the corner and I'm not sure if I'll wait just yet for it.

whats your budget for the other parts? Any color scheme an what do you plan to be doing with this rig?
Also theres nor reason to wait for zen. Intel cpus are so far in the led. Amd would need to pull a rabbit out of a hat just to catch up. Amd just doesnt have the means to pop as many cpus as Intel, especially for gaming purposes. 99% would agree with that.

I don't necessarily have a set budget at the moment. I just want to build a great quality rig that'll last me a long while and still be relevant. I don't do any video editing or rendering, just gaming. I've got 2 1080p monitors that I got as a 2 for 1 deal so I plan to set those up as well. In terms of colour scheme it doesn't really matter. I'm just looking for performance per dollar. I got all these parts at very good/reasonable prices for being in Canada.

but if what you've said is true then i'd be leaning more towards an i3-6100 for what i'm willing to spend. Although i'm not sure how far that'll get me in terms of future proofing being only dual core.

As far as gaming goes its standard to get a quad core. And with future proofing its necessary to get a quad core. Something like a i5 6400, Cheapest skylake quadcore you can buy.
There was money to be saved on the case but thats done an happened.
If you want to run dual monitors youll need a good gpu, the least id go on the gpu is a gtx 1060.
Your power supply is great. I have that exact model in my gaming rig an love it. Was a breeze to work with.

I'm open to suggestions in terms of a case. I was looking for one that could support my SSD that also has plenty of room and wire management. This was the cheapest I could find at the time for what I was looking for, unfortunately... I was looking at a few for a while but they seemed to all have some problems with them. This case also has great air flow apparently

I'd like to also mention that all these items are currently in the process of being ordered. I can still cancel them since they haven't been shipped yet. - I just cancelled the water cooling system and decided on the Hyper 212 EVO.

it be worth looking around at cases from NZXT, Fractal design an Phantek. Those are usually my go to in cases.

No prob an yea thats a great case.

Thats a great gaming cpu. You wont need a aio water cooler to coo it. Most of the time people use water coolers if they plan to overclock as you can get a much better oc using water coolers then air coolers but for non ocing purposes, Air does the job perfectly.
Have you decided on the case yet? if you get one with a side panel or not will help in narrowing down the ram, gpu an motherboard, as to fit a color scheme or not.

I decided on the Phanteks eclipse p400s. It's a little more expensive than my previous, but I think it's a lot better for what you pay. Especially aesthetically

Did you get the window version or the closed panel? And yea thats a nice case. I use a phantek enthoo luxe in my gaming rig. Was a breeze to work inside of.
