Hello,
I have a HP desktop that is running windows Vista 32-BIT home edition. Now this has been happening for a while. I dual-boot windows 8 consumer preview. Now windows Vista whenever I go to boot it up goes to the crawler. Then Blue-screens and shuts down. Now I have a lot of important stuff on that computer that I need. Unfortunately I do not have a installation disc with the computer. I have attempted to start up the computer in safe mode and still the same result always get a blue screen. This is frustrating because I have tried everything/ I have the computer in Windows Repair look for a startup error and nothing shows up, it says no errors have been found. I am not aware what the error when it blue screens is because it resets right away. I really need help with this situation because it is getting stressful.

Thanks,
Patrick

First things first: you need to backup the important stuff you have on that partition/drive. For that, the best way would be to remove the HDD, attach it via a docking cradle or an external enclosure to another PC, extract all the data you can't afford to lose.
Then, you need to see what is causing the error/BSOD. Usually there is a clue in the error message, directing to some driver corrupted or something like that.
