Hi

I have Windows 7 SP1, i tried many times via msconfig, CCleaner, Asus Fast Boot, but everytime my windows loads, their are tons of startup icons like Nokia PC Suite etc etc.

I have disabled them using msconfig and CCleaner etc, but still they appear during startup and hence my startup process is v slow.

Any help ? 🙁

@willard : yes its enabled.

@dext : well, i do need many programs like sandbox, Nokia PC Suite etc, its just that they appear in startup which i don't want them to, msconfig doesn't seem to be working, so does CClnear tool to remove startup programs.

I think as i used msconfig + CCleaner to remove Startup Programs + Asus Fast boot, something must be clashing.

It is always best to see if a program has its own way to disable its auto start with windows behavior first.

Some programs will just keep re-adding them selves because they have an option telling them to start with windows.

It is always best to check the software first to see if it can be set to not load with windows.

Also be sure you are telling windows to stay in selective startup after using msconfig for other programs(if you still need msconfig).

msconfig should take care of any registry settings to disable software on startup.

You can try services set to delayed to make them start a bit later(from the services panel not msconfig). this can prevent a slowdown when everything is trying to start. With the services disabled, the software may fail to run.

If the software has an options menu look for anything with startup in that section.

try this maybe? I do not have that software to test with.

you may be able to try autoruns to see if you can get this disabled, but if it just recreates its own startup, it may not help.
