startup repair taking to long

hello, my laptop has been doing a startup repair for at least 22 hours and I am not seeing any progress, it's staying at the repairing disk errors part of the process. is this normal ? if so how much longer should I wait ?

That is pretty long, chances are your hard drive is dead and you need a new one. When the system all of a sudden wants to do a repair of Windows, it's better to just get a new hard drive and install Windows clean on that. You can copy your files from the original disk using an external drive enclosure.
