Startup speed very fast(15-20 seconds) but shutdown takes 3 minutes..

I have a seagate ST31000524AS and I'm surprised by how fast it boots up! I dont even have a very powerful pc (i5 3450 and gtx 970 with 8gb ram). But the shutdown takes too long. ANy suggestions?
